About

About the Foundation

The Reisman Family Foundation, Inc. is a New York–based 501(c)(3) public charity founded in 2019, during the COVID-19 pandemic, in response to the profound gaps families faced when serious illness disrupted daily life. While medical systems focus on treatment, the Foundation was established to address the emotional, financial, and practical burdens that too often remain unmet.

Today, the Foundation serves individuals and families nationwide, providing support during periods of serious illness and medical hardship—regardless of diagnosis—so that families can focus on healing rather than survival logistics.

Our Purpose

Serious illness impacts far more than physical health. It affects a family’s ability to work, travel, maintain a household, and care for loved ones. The Reisman Family Foundation exists to bridge the space between medical care and real-world needs—stepping in where traditional systems fall short.

Our work is grounded in dignity, compassion, and responsible stewardship, ensuring that support reaches families at the moments they need it most.

What We Do

When illness disrupts daily life, families often need more than medical care alone. The Foundation provides a range of support services designed to ease the emotional, financial, and practical strain that accompanies serious illness. These services may include:

  • Direct financial assistance to help offset essential expenses
  • Transportation support for medical appointments and hospital visits
  • In-home assistance during hospitalization or recovery
  • Post-hospital companionship and emotional support
  • Additional services designed to stabilize families during periods of vulnerability

As demand for assistance has grown, it has become clear that monetary donations alone are no longer sufficient to meet the needs of the families reaching out to us. This reality has guided the Foundation’s evolution and expansion.

How We Work

The Reisman Family Foundation works directly with families, volunteers, healthcare partners, and corporate partners to deliver support where it is needed most.

Support is funded through a combination of:

  • Individual monetary donations, and
  • In-kind contributions from corporate partners, including donated goods that are either distributed directly or responsibly converted into funding for charitable programs through approved, compliant channels.

This approach allows the Foundation to expand its reach, stabilize funding, and respond more effectively to the growing volume of families seeking help.

Corporate Partnerships & In-Kind Giving

In December 2024, the Foundation formally launched a permanent expansion of its funding strategy to include corporate in-kind donations. This initiative enables corporations to donate excess, discontinued, or overstock goods, which are managed in accordance with strict compliance, brand integrity, and donor confidentiality standards.

Donated goods may be:

  • Used directly to support families in need, or
  • Responsibly transferred through approved channels to generate funding that supports the Foundation’s charitable programs.

All proceeds derived from in-kind contributions are used exclusively to further the Foundation’s mission.

Governance, Compliance & Transparency

The Reisman Family Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) public charity governed by an independent Board of Directors and committed to the highest standards of transparency and regulatory compliance.

Key compliance practices include:

  • IRS-compliant in-kind donation acknowledgment letters
  • No assignment of monetary value to donated goods by the Foundation
  • Approved channels for any transfer or conversion of donated goods
  • Protection of donor confidentiality and brand integrity
  • Exclusive use of funds for charitable programs
