Serious illness affects far more than physical health. It can disrupt a family’s ability to work, travel, manage a household, and care for loved ones. The Reisman Family Foundation provides practical, financial, and emotional support designed to stabilize individuals and families during periods of medical hardship—so they can focus on healing rather than day-to-day survival.
Our services are available nationwide, without discrimination based on state or location, and are provided case by case, based on need and available resources.
Each service below represents a direct intervention intended to reduce the burden families face when illness overwhelms normal routines. All assistance is discretionary and tailored to individual circumstances.
Providing targeted financial assistance to help families manage essential living expenses when serious illness disrupts income or creates sudden financial strain. Support is offered on a discretionary, case-by-case basis and may help address urgent needs that threaten a family’s stability during treatment or recovery.
Helping individuals and families access critical medical care by supporting transportation to and from hospitals, treatment centers, and follow-up appointments. This service is especially vital when illness limits a family’s ability to travel independently or maintain reliable transportation.
Offering short-term assistance to families facing acute logistical or financial crises related to serious illness. These interventions are designed to prevent cascading hardship during already vulnerable periods and may address immediate, non-medical challenges that place families at risk.
Providing practical, short-term in-home support during hospitalization or recovery. Assistance may include light household help intended to maintain basic stability when a primary caregiver or income earner is unavailable due to illness.
Supporting individuals during recovery at home by helping address the isolation, stress, and emotional strain that often follow hospitalization or intensive treatment. This service focuses on presence, dignity, and continuity of care beyond the hospital setting.
Providing moments of relief and human connection during hospitalization through carefully coordinated engagement and entertainment. These programs are designed to support emotional well-being for patients and families during extended or difficult hospital stays.
Demand for support continues to grow nationwide. While the Foundation works diligently to assist as many individuals and families as possible, available resources are not always sufficient to meet every request. As a result, assistance is prioritized based on urgency, impact, and available capacity.
To responsibly expand access to these services, the Foundation relies on a combination of monetary donations and in-kind contributions from corporate partners, which help sustain and scale our programs over time.
